Renaissance Weapons

(Performed in conjunction with the House of Sydney)

Our stage show.  Members of the Iowa Tudor Guard give the audience a very accurate lesson about how to kill one another - Renaissance style!  We discuss everything from our 8' halberds to swords, maces, swords, longbows, maces, swords, daggers... and did we mention swords?

Interactive Street Theater

(featuring marching drills with 8' halberds)

The Guard are usually found in the streets - and by streets, we mean the open spaces between booths at the festival.  We interact with festival patrons, escort our favorite royals and nobles, ensure the safety of the merchants (for some reason, we seem to pay extra attention to weapons and food vendors), and even practice our marching and weapons drills.  Great photo opportunities!
